This week’s choice for Track of the week is an absolute pop punk phenomenon courtesy of Sydney, Australia’s Yours Truly. If you like If you like stellar pop rock lyrics, a pure pop punk powerhouse of a chorus and catchy as hell vocals to tie it all together, then look no further than the sublime Yours Truly track High Hopes.

Combining heart wrenching lyrics, catchy melodies and a singalong chorus is no easy thing to do but on High Hopes the band manage to find the magic formula. The track is a must listen for any pop-punk fan and is a definitely a stand out summer anthem.

Australia seems to be producing some of the hottest pop-punk bands around at the moment, but even with the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer, Tonight Alive and Stand Atlantic grabbing the headlines Yours Truly still manage to stand out from the crowd.

Speaking to Scenezine the bands singer Mikaila Delgado opened up about the themes of High Hopes stating that it “was a song I wrote about someone who I thought had believed in me but turned out to let me down and sold out on me. In the beginning of the song I’m acknowledging the fact that things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to, and by the end of the song I’ve realised that this is the way it is and I’m better off this way.”
